Spelling City can be used independently by students by inputting in their weekly spelling list words and then choosing from the test me, teach me or play a game options. Alternatively, teachers can set up accounts and input their spelling lists so students only need to find the teacher and the activities are ready to go! This site is constantly being updated and a favourite of my students.

A website that must be seen to be believed. Completely free this website provides teachers with access to hundreds of graded interactives, videos, printables, online and paper assessments on ten subject areas. Teachers can set up a class account so student progress can be tracked easily. It also allows teachers to put target lessons or activities on the 'to do' lists of students before they play any other games.

Another fabulous site with heaps of interactives, great for displaying on the IWB or on individual computers for group work. For ES1 and S1 there are plenty of phonics, sentence structure, punctuation and word word activities.

The free version of this website allows students to use QuickPlay without logging in or create an account so they can save their lists. Students can then learn their words before competing in a spelling bee activity. Teachers are able to create a free account which allows them to set up a classroom for their students.
